Looking for a hands on, creative way for older student to take notes and learn about the Catholic Saints? This Catholic Saint Sketchbook is like a coloring book for big kids. It lets kids write, draw, doodle and sketch what they learn about each of the saints in an open ended way.

WHY THIS PRODUCT

I designed this resource to be like a coloring/sketch/comic book for big kids. My Catholic Saint Coloring Book has been a best seller for years, but it was designed with younger kids in mind. I wanted to make the next step up so that older elementary (even middle school) students could learn about the saints but have more creativity and freedom for showing their learning.

Each page of the sketchbook has spots for taking notes, but I encourage students to be creative and make it their own. Write, draw, doodle, sketch on any part of the page to share facts, connections, quotes and learning about the Catholic saints. I’ve included a few facts per page as a starting point.

This could be used daily, on saint feast days, as a research project, for All Saints’ Day, to take notes after others present on each saint, etc.

DIRECTIONS FOR ASSEMBLY

To assemble, just print the saints you want to learn about, print a cover, staple/bind and you have a new coloring book and learning tool. If you don't want to bind, you can hole punch and store in a 3 ring binder.

LEARNING ABOUT THE SAINTS

I’ve included a pdf with basic facts for each saint. This is a good starting point if you don’t want to find outside sources for information. I’ve included name, feast day, country, virtue, patron of, and basic facts. Some of the saints have a quote as well. You could print this and give it to students, or just use it for your own knowledge and share it with them orally.

You could also bring in books, videos and podcasts and students could take notes from there. I give some specific recommendations in the product.
